ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TRENDS TO LOOK OUT FOR IN 2022
While AI keeps trying to make the world a better place, it has also created a series of challenges that need to be addressed. From human-fed bias in the models to out of control disinformation. Here I present just some of the AI trends to look out for in 2022.
As we move into the new year, there are a few big trends in AI that I'm keeping an eye on.
I will keep the list to the point and look forward to look back next year to see if and how some of these came into fruition.
Here are my 3 predictions for the year:
1. Wide language models use (e.g. GPT-3) in copy, blog posts creation etc.
There's already many apps boasting AI-related content writers, I believe this trend will only continue to grow as the quality improves, the way people use the models becomes smoother and the gap between generated content and manual created content decreases.
I will be looking forward to how people will use these technologies and how some of the concerns will be tackled when they become widespread.
An example of such app is this.
2. Generative models will be used for public facing services.
For many years generative were seen as a kinda really cool tech-demo - without a clear path to product.
I'm excited to see some really interesting use cases showing up, such as this one. Where avatars are being generated to fill in for real-life actors which can be a time-consuming and expensive process.
What other use cases will people come up for this and other related models?
3. Privacy, bias, compliance, regulation related AI will explode.
AI is becoming ubiquitous and with that comes a new age of responsibility and care.
I will be on the lookout for developments around this subject and I hope companies will be mindful of this when developing new techniques and use cases for AI.
